Artist Sein Myint was born in Sagaing Hills ,  Mandalay . He studied about art under great master artist Paw Oo Thet , U Win pe and U Lun Tin . He is also graduated from the Mandalay Art and Science University majoring in Burmese Language and Literature .  So , he is very interested in Burmese Culture and Literature and developed his interest by studying under Sayar U Aye Myint ( Master of Traditional Myanmar Design ) and  U Win Maung ( Tampawadi ). 

His first show was group exhibition in 1970 with great Myanmar Modern Artists including U Khin Maung ( Bank ) . Paw Oo Thet , Khin Maung Yin , Win Pe and other .In 1987 , his Water Color painting entitled “ Irrawaddy River Scene ’’ won a prize at International UNICEF Paintings Competition and he donated his prize money to UNICEF Children’s Fund.

 In 1989 – 1990 , his Tapestry embodying traditional Myanmar Art was selected to grace the wall in the main chamber of the United Nations Head Quarters building in New York City . In 1994 , he was again awarded a prize for infusing folk art with creativity by the Myanmar Government .  In 1995 , he was appointed by the Government of Union Of Myanmar as an expert and consultant on traditional Myanmar Folks Arts . In 1996 , he was invited by East West Center in Hinolulu Hawai to hold an exhibition on traditional Myanmar  tapestries and to lecture on the subject . In the same year , he was invited to the UK by the program of culture exchange together with Sayar Gyi U Maung Maung Tin and U Win Maung ( Tampawadi ).

He creates his art works by adding all of his interest to traditional  tapestry . He also enjoys creating modern paintings but whenever he paints, he can’t left his heart ,“Myanmar Culture and Tradition ” . The combination of   his heart , his emotion ,his expert skill becomes a strong modern paintings  with Myanmar traditional fragrances . His own style paintings are enchanting to  audiences and collected by many people  around world.
